Developing a rooftop tent for a leading roof box manufacturer VDL Hapro. Conducting in-depth research on existing products both within the company and across the market. Bringing a fresh, innovative perspective to the design process to enhance functionality and appeal. VDL released their VISTA XL with elements taken from our design the Turtle Shell, with as the special feature a starry roof.
To bring the design to life, we reached out to inflatable (roof) tent experts from Dometic Outdoor. This was important for our market research, material knowledge and prototyping & testing.

Based on our initial brainstorming sketches, we collaborated with experts from TenCate Outdoor Fabrics, Dare To Be Different Outdoor, VDL Hapro, and Dometic Outdoor to develop a feasible concept.

My Role in This Project
My Role in This Project
In this project, I was responsible for project management, ensuring oversight and distributing tasks as needed. During our brainstorming sessions, I created an environment where all team members could freely share their ideas. I translated these ideas into simple sketches and then into realistic 3D renderings.
As a team, we presented our collective work to various stakeholders, including professors, experts, and clients. I took the lead in maintaining professional communication with these parties and stakeholders.
